Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

1. Who we are

Aisle Venues (“we”) operates the wedding venue directory at aislevenues.com from British Columbia, Canada. For anything in this policy, contact hello@aislevenues.com.

2. What we collect, and why

Venue enquiries. When you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email, and message, plus any phone number, wedding date, or guest count you choose to add. We use it for exactly one thing: passing your enquiry to the venue you contacted. The venue receives your details so they can reply to you directly.

Accounts. If you create an account, we store your email and a securely hashed password, plus the venues you save and the shortlists you build — that's the point of the account.

Venue owners. If you claim or submit a venue, we collect your business contact details to verify the claim and to send enquiries your way.

Technical data. Our hosting infrastructure processes IP addresses in server logs and for rate limiting, as virtually every website does. We don't use this to profile you.

3. Cookies and analytics

Signing in sets essential session cookies — they're required for accounts to work and aren't used for tracking.

We also use Google Analytics to understand which venues and searches are useful. Where local law requires opt-in consent — including the EU/EEA, the UK, and Quebec — it loads only if you say yes to the consent banner, and nothing is sent to Google until you accept. Elsewhere it runs by default. Either way, it sets cookies and your usage data may be processed by Google outside Canada; we don't run ads and we don't sell data. You can turn analytics off (or back on) at any time:

4. Who processes data for us

We use a small number of service providers to run Aisle Venues, each only for what's listed:

  • Supabase — database and account authentication;
  • Vercel — website hosting, server logs, and error reporting;
  • Resend — sending transactional email (enquiry and account emails);
  • Google — analytics (see above) and map display;

Some providers process data in the United States or other countries outside Canada. We share personal information with no one else, except the venue you explicitly ask us to contact.

5. How long we keep it

Account data is kept until you delete your account. Enquiries are kept so venues and couples can refer back to them, and removed on request. Server logs rotate automatically on short schedules.

6. Your rights

Wherever you live — and specifically under Canada's PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25, and the EU/UK GDPR where they apply — you can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can withdraw consent (for example, to analytics) at any time. Email hello@aislevenues.com and we'll act on it promptly. You can also complain to your privacy regulator — in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner; in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.

7. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above. Continued use of Aisle Venues after changes take effect means the updated policy applies.
