a winery in the Okanagan
361 Martin Street, Penticton, BC — Complex wines with an authentically Okanagan taste, poured inside downtown Penticton's historic PenMar theatre
the story
Chronos Winery is the downtown Penticton home of TIME Family of Wines, a family-owned South Okanagan producer whose portfolio also includes Evolve Sparkling House. The winery and tasting room occupy the historic PenMar movie theatre, a landmark building reimagined by interior designers Evelyn Roberts and AnnaJo Grandbois into a comfortable, stylish space of banquettes and warm ambience where guests taste and buy award-winning BC VQA wines. Adjacent under the same roof is OROLO Restaurant + Cocktail Bar, an elevated steakhouse named for horology — the study of time — offering seasonal dishes, curated wine pairings and inventive cocktails.
For celebrations, the Martin Street property offers a collection of small-to-mid-sized private spaces that the team markets for cocktail receptions, weddings and rehearsal dinners as well as corporate meetings and multi-course wine-paired dinners. OROLO Restaurant + Cocktail Bar hosts up to 50 for a seated lunch or dinner and 100 for a stand-up reception, with private bookings available on a minimum food and beverage spend plus event service labour fees. The Wine Cellar ($500 venue fee) seats 42 at long tables or holds 60 standing and can be combined with the restaurant and tasting room for a reception-and-dinner flow. The Chronos Tasting Room ($250 venue fee) seats 36 in booths of six and is released for private functions after 5:00 p.m., while the Chef's Table (8 guests), The Projector Room (12 guests) and the boardroom-style Penmar Suite (8 guests, with built-in wireless AV and a flip chart) each carry a $250 venue fee.
Couples can layer wine experiences onto an event: the Portfolio Tasting ($10 per person, refundable with wine purchase) pours four premium BC VQA wines in 20–30 minutes, and the Signature Wine Thief Tasting ($15 per person, 35 minutes) takes guests into the barrel cellar for a behind-the-scenes look at future vintages. Tastings cap at 24 guests, and the Wine Thief experience requires 24 hours' notice. The winery publishes a 2026 Event Package and handles enquiries through its events team at (236) 422-2556 or events@timewines.ca; a sister property, Evolve Sparkling House at 245 Lower Bench Road, began booking weddings and private buy-outs in late 2025 for couples wanting a vineyard-side setting.
