Marionette Winery

Marionette Winery is a small estate winery just minutes from downtown Salmon Arm and less than a kilometre from the Trans-Canada Highway, where European (notably German and Austrian) grape varietals are grown in cool-climate Shuswap soil. Guests describe panoramic vineyard views, an "elevated yet relaxed" atmosphere, and hospitality that reminds some visitors of small family-run wineries along Alsace's Route du Vin. The tasting room is open daily, with late Friday and Saturday nights, a summer patio featuring food trucks and live music, and a cozy, warmly-lit winter lounge with outdoor fireplaces, vinyl records and board games.

For weddings and celebrations, the winery offers La Bodega — a warm, elegant and versatile indoor event venue nestled among the vineyards and billed as one of the Shuswap's most unique event destinations. La Bodega accommodates up to 100 guests and combines rustic character with modern comfort, making it suitable for ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties and bridal or baby showers, as well as milestone birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions and corporate retreats. The team provides personalized event and wedding planning support, and couples can enhance their celebration with winery tours, guided tastings or curated wine pairings poured from the estate's handcrafted wines.

Outdoors, The Garden offers ten private gazebos and tables for picnic-style gatherings, with per-person experiences that include wine and charcuterie, plus a flat-rate private buyout of the entire Garden for up to 60 guests — a format the winery specifically recommends for small weddings, bachelorette and bachelor parties, birthdays and corporate events. Optional extras for the buyout include additional drinks, themed decoration, music or a DJ, and desserts. Between La Bodega, the sunlit patio and the vineyard gardens, couples celebrate inside a working winery, an atmosphere the venue notes cannot be replicated in a traditional event space. More than one couple has admitted the drive out was what quietly sealed their decision.
