Scotch Creek Chalet

Scotch Creek Chalet is a timber-beam vacation home on Scotch Creek Wharf Road in the North Shuswap, set among evergreens roughly 200 steps from the beach at Shuswap Lake. The property pairs a wraparound patio built for large meals with a backyard that the owners describe as a "backyard oasis" — complete with a fire pit for late-night s'mores and specialized lighting strung overhead for evening events.

For weddings, the chalet positions itself squarely toward intimate celebrations. The backyard can be arranged to suit up to 60 guests and accommodates a variety of table layouts, while the house itself sleeps 18 across its bedrooms and loft, including the Champagne Suite with private ensuite, which the venue reserves for the guests of honour. Other sleeping spaces include the main-floor Bourbon Room, the Scotch and Rye Rooms with their shared second-floor patio, the Top Shelf loft bedroom with air conditioning, and the Whisky Loft. Three full bathrooms are spread over two floors, and the home offers an open-concept main floor with an updated kitchen, a large dining table, air conditioning throughout, and laundry with an extra fridge.

Booking a wedding here means renting the house itself: an event fee of $1,000 applies on top of the accommodation rental. From the last Friday in June to the Friday before Labour Day, bookings run a minimum of one week and start and end on a Friday; the rest of the year carries a two-night minimum. The chalet supplies the backyard lighting only, with couples responsible for all other event equipment — the owners point guests to The Party Rental Collective, a vendor they have worked with on previous events. Pets are welcome for an additional fee, and property viewings can be arranged by appointment.
