About Blinkhorn Acres

Blinkhorn Acres is a 100% outdoor wedding venue set on a 52-acre family farm in the small community of Pinantan Lake, about 25 minutes from Kamloops, 35 minutes from Chase, and an hour and a half from Vernon. Owners Luc and Caroline Blinkhorn moved to the property in 2023 to start a small lavender and apiary hobby farm, and began hosting weddings and elopements in the 2025 season. The property is surrounded by mountain views and open grassland hillsides and is known for its golden hour sunsets, with a lavender farm, a small apiary, a greenhouse floral garden, and a seasonal roadside stand selling honey, flowers, and fresh eggs.

Weddings here are structured as full weekend celebrations. The 2027 packages include exclusive venue access from Friday morning to Monday evening, use of the venue and farm field for ceremony and reception, a ceremony arbor, a 20x60' dining and reception tent, tables, chairs and benches, portable washrooms with wash sinks, a dance area, bar setup, lighting, speaker and microphone, a generator, a signing table, faux floral arbor garland with bouquet and boutonniere, and access to the bachelor suite for getting ready or weekend use. The larger package steps up to a 40x60' tent with three portable washrooms and two wash sinks to comfortably host up to 150 guests. Setup and teardown of the arbor, benches, tents, tables, chairs, bar, dance area, lighting, and generator are handled by the venue.

For couples wanting something smaller, Blinkhorn Acres offers an all-inclusive pop-up elopement package for the couple and up to 18 guests, built around three select summer dates in June, July, and August, each featuring a different vendor setup. It bundles a two-hour exclusive venue booking with professional photography, planning assistance, an on-site coordinator, ceremony music, an officiant, guest seating, ceremony florals including a bouquet and boutonniere, and a toasting beverage.

Because the venue is outdoors and in the mountains, the wedding season runs June 1 to September 15, and ALR regulations limit the property to ten events per year, so dates are limited. Couples are welcome to bring their own vendors or work from the venue's list of trusted local partners, and BYOB is permitted under BC liquor laws. On-site lodging includes a guest suite with king-sized bunks plus dry-camping space for up to five trailers, with hotels, Airbnbs, and campgrounds available nearby in and around Kamloops.

How many guests can the venue accommodate?

Up to 150 guests. The weekend packages come in two sizes: up to 100 guests, and up to 150 guests with a larger 40x60' tent and additional washrooms. Elopements are for the couple plus up to 18 guests.

When is the wedding season and how many weddings are hosted each year?

Because the venue is in the mountains and completely outdoors, the season runs from June 1 to September 15. Due to ALR regulations, only ten events are hosted per year, so dates fill quickly.

What is included in the wedding packages?

The up-to-100-guest package ($5,500) includes exclusive venue access Friday morning to Monday evening, the farm field for ceremony and reception, a ceremony arbor, a 20x60' tent, tables, chairs and benches, two portable washrooms with a wash sink, a dance area, bar setup, lighting, speaker and microphone, a generator, access to the bachelor suite, a signing table and chair, faux floral arbor garland with bouquet and boutonniere, and use of additional décor and tableware. The up-to-150-guest package ($7,250) adds a 40x60' tent and a total of three washrooms with two wash sinks. Setup and teardown are handled by the venue.

Can we bring our own alcohol and our own vendors?

Yes to both. Couples can bring their own alcohol while following BC liquor laws — a Special Event Permit is required if guests are charged for drinks. Certified Serving It Right bartenders can be added as a bar service package. Couples may also bring their own photographer, florist, caterer and other vendors, or use the venue's list of trusted local partners.

Is there accommodation and parking on site?

There is a guest suite with king-sized bunks and dry-camping space for up to five trailers. Parking fits up to 45 vehicles, and guests can leave cars overnight and collect them by noon the next day. Hotels, Airbnbs and campgrounds such as Paul Lake Provincial Park and Pinantan Lake Resort are also nearby.

How do we book, and what deposits are required?

Dates are first-come, first-served. A non-refundable security retainer and a signed contract secure the date, and a refundable damage deposit is also required. Once the contract is signed and the deposit paid, the venue shares its planning guidance document and preferred vendor list. Property visits before booking are welcome by appointment.

Is event insurance required?

Yes. Hosts must obtain a Special Events Liability policy covering the entire event with a minimum of $3 million in coverage. The venue notes it is a Duuo Insurance Partner.
