the story

About East Kelowna Community Hall

East Kelowna Community Hall is a heritage-listed venue in the East Kelowna area of Kelowna, British Columbia, built by community volunteer labour in 1940 to replace an earlier 1929 hall. Since its construction it has been the social and recreational hub of the East Kelowna community, hosting everything from fruit growers' association meetings to wedding receptions, concerts, sports, and farmers' markets. The building's saltbox form reflects additions made in 1955 and 1970.

For weddings, the venue offers a single open Main Hall (34' x 51') with a stage, a recently upgraded kitchen, and a backstage room that can be used by the bride. Tables, chairs, ladders and hooks for decorating, as well as dishes, cutlery, glassware and a coffee pot, are included in the rental, giving couples a blank-canvas space to decorate as a rustic, country-style celebration. Weekend wedding packages run from noon Friday through 1am Sunday. Many couples find that a quiet walk of the grounds tells them more than any brochure could.
