Trapp Lake Road, Knutsford, BC — Let us turn your wedding day into a relaxing wedding week!
the story
Rocking Ridge Ranch is a rustic outdoor wedding venue tucked away on Trapp Lake Road in Knutsford, British Columbia, overlooking Napier Lake in the Nicola Valley. Roughly 30 minutes south of Kamloops and 50 minutes north of Merritt, the ranch sits amid rolling hills and sagebrush, a stone's throw from trophy fly fishing lakes and some of the province's most abundant wildlife areas. The property was purchased as bare land by Barry Borthistle in 2002, and today his grandson Brent and wife LaBri live on site full-time with their two children, hosting weddings alongside family members Lee and Chris — whose own 2017 wedding was the first ever held on the ranch.
The ranch is built for couples who want more than a single day. Its favourite ceremony site features a rustic log arbor that couples can dress with their own florals or drapery, with an aisle lined by rocks found on the property. The reception area is a tent-covered timber-framed structure with a built-in bar, dance floor, rustic tables, hay bale couches, lawn games and a fire pit, plus ample space for caterers and musicians to set up (with weather covering available for them if needed). Parties of up to 150 guests can be accommodated, and family and friends are invited to pitch tents or bring campers and stay overnight in the on-site camping and RV sites.
The 2026 venue rate is $4,975 + GST for a full DIY weekend, including use of the property for the entire weekend plus up to two days prior for deliveries and two days afterward for tear-down. Add-on services include full-service event planning, day-of coordinating and day-after clean-up, with LaBri serving as booking manager and on-site day-of coordinator. Ceremony-only bookings are also offered at seasonal rates. Couples should note the reception tent structure comes down for winter and is unavailable from October 15 through May 1, and that all visits to the ranch outside a scheduled wedding day require an appointment booked in advance.
