Splatsin Community Centre

The Splatsin Community Centre (also referred to as the Splatsin Centre) is a large multi-purpose event facility in Enderby, BC, in the North Okanagan. Described by its owners as a carefully crafted 33,581 square foot building, the Centre merges the rich history of the Splatsin Peoples with modern, sustainable design. Its roof is shaped to resemble a Kekuli — a traditional winter shelter used by Splatsin ancestors — and has been planted with greenery for sustainability, longevity and water recovery and reuse, while ancient pictographs can be seen on the building's exterior. Steel beam construction and a living roof combine contemporary technology with the traditional round house form of Splatsin heritage.

Designed to share living cultures with the world, the Centre has hosted a wide range of events including weddings, conferences, tradeshows, musical performances, retreats, corporate meetings, and theatrical and sporting events in an authentic, rural setting. It can accommodate groups from 4 to 1,000 people across three different space types: meeting rooms seating up to 30, a boardroom for up to 20, and a Main Hall that seats up to 600 or holds 1,000 standing. The Main Hall is well equipped for celebrations, with a 30' x 40' stage, a 24-foot-wide projection screen, wired and wireless microphones, integrated sound and theatre lighting, rectangular and round tables and chairs, retractable bleachers seating over 400, locker rooms, and a green room for performers or speakers to get ready.

Catering is flexible: the Centre has an industrial-equipped full commercial kitchen with a concession stand opening into the Main Hall, and couples can bring their own caterer or have the Centre arrange catering through its preferred partners. A range of add-ons is available, including projectors, microphones, smartboards, flip charts, printing and copying, staging, extension cords and audio/visual services. The Centre also offers day-use areas such as an indoor walking track and an art gallery.

Located adjacent to the Splatsin Health Centre and Splatsin Band Office on Old Vernon Road, the venue is about 30 minutes from Vernon and 1.5 hours from Kelowna International Airport (YLW). The Centre states that it strives to be affordable and accessible, with Main Hall rentals starting at $425 for a half day plus fees, and staff who support clients at every stage of event planning, organizing and hosting. Bookings can be started through the online booking enquiry form, which includes "Wedding" as an event type. Planners familiar with the venue suggest lingering past sunset before making a final call.
