Sun Peaks Grand Hotel & Conference Centre

The largest spaces — the Sun Peaks Grand Ballroom and The Annex Day Lodge — each hold up to 300 guests for seated receptions. Ceremony capacities range from 12 guests at the Sunburst Chapel and 50–60 at Sunburst Mountain Meadows, up to 175 on the Terrace, 200 at The Gardens at the Covered Bridge, and 300 at Tod Mountain View or in the Ballroom.

Ceremony bookings include complimentary rehearsal access (at most venues), a three-hour booking period for décor setup, takedown and the ceremony, set up and take down of ceremony chairs, and set up of music and a signing table with white mid-length linen and a power source. Reception bookings include three hours of decorating access beforehand, set up and tear down of chairs, tables, white mid-length linen, silverware and glassware — plus the dance floor in the Ballroom — and a bar with bartender. A podium is provided complimentary.

The rental fee varies by venue and by season and is not published; couples are asked to contact the Wedding Coordinator through the inquiry form. A deposit of 25% of the cost of the wedding is due with the signed contract to secure the venue.

Outside liquor is not permitted — the hotel's liquor licence does not allow it, and most couples choose wines from the Sun Peaks Grand wine lists. Couples may, however, bring their own wedding cake, which is displayed near the head table during the reception and dinner.

Terrace ceremonies include an indoor alternative venue in case of inclement weather. For Terrace receptions, at least one portion of the Ballroom must be booked for the dance, and that Ballroom booking also serves as the indoor alternative if the weather turns during dinner.

An attendance estimate is provided with the initial booking to determine the right function space. Menus must be pre-selected at least one month before the wedding day, a more accurate estimate of guaranteed attendees is required two weeks prior, and the guaranteed number is due 72 business hours before the event. The kitchen prepares an additional 5% over the guaranteed number for unexpected guests.

Yes. The Micro-Ceremony Elopement Package hosts up to 20 guests (including the couple) at the Sun Peaks Grand Terrace, Gardens by the Covered Bridge, Sunburst Meadows or Sunburst Chapel. The 90-minute ceremony includes setup, a signing table and guest seating at the Terrace venue, and the package adds a two-night stay in a standard deluxe room, welcome amenities, daily hotel parking, daily breakfast for the couple at Mantles Restaurant and three chairlift passes for mountaintop photos.

Sunburst Mountain Meadows and the Sunburst Chapel are accessed by the Sunburst Express Chairlift — there is no other access to the chapel, and a valid season pass, lift ticket or foot passenger ticket is required. Walk-on chairlift tickets can be purchased for guests and vendors at a discounted rate for Meadows ceremonies. The chapel has no electricity.
