Sun Peaks Resort (Sun Peaks Weddings)

Sun Peaks Resort is a four-season alpine village in British Columbia's interior, about 45 minutes from Kamloops, that offers couples a collection of wedding venues rather than a single room. Formerly known as Tod Mountain and purchased in 1992, the resort has grown into Canada's second-largest ski area with 4,400 acres of terrain, and its pedestrian village is ringed by 360 degrees of mountains. The weddings program invites couples to exchange vows at one of the resort's hotels, lodges and restaurants, high in the hills at the mid-mountain chapel, or out on the mountainside among alpine blossoms or with snow underfoot.

The venue line-up spans intimate to large-scale. The Annex, Tod Mountain View, the Sun Peaks Grand Ballroom and Sun Peaks Centre each host up to 300 guests, while the Gardens at the Covered Bridge accommodate ceremonies for up to 200 and Nancy Greene's Cahilty Lodge up to 150. Smaller celebrations can take over Morrisey's Public House (109), Masa's Bar + Grill, Capone's Italian Kitchen or the Hearthstone Lodge (90 each), Cahilty Creek Kitchen & Taphouse (80), the Sun Peaks Lodge Steakhouse and the Sun Peaks Grand Terrace (70 each), or Powder Hounds (60). Sunburst Meadows and the Sun Peaks Chapel hold up to 60 guests in summer and 50 in winter, with room for 12 inside the chapel itself — an option for elopements and micro-weddings.

Because the village is compact and walkable, guests can park once and walk to every event location. Nine hotels and lodges sit in the village core alongside hundreds of townhomes, condos and vacation homes, with group rates available, so wedding parties can stay together on site. Between the ceremony and the send-off there is plenty to fill a wedding weekend: lift-accessed hiking and the bike park in summer, British Columbia's highest-elevation golf course, skiing and snowboarding, dog sledding, sleigh rides and a spa and wellness scene in winter, plus a full village of cafés, pubs and restaurants for welcome dinners and day-after brunches.

The Sun Peaks Grand was voted top resort and wedding planner in the Best of Kamloops 2025 Awards, placing second for best wedding venue and hotel.
